We're doing Dry July!

By James Reynolds and Jen Timmins

Can you believe we are half way through 2017!

Looking back to December 31st, 2016 can you remember the hopes you had for 2017?

Perhaps you even made yourself some promises about what you were going to achieve this year.

How have you gone with them?

Take a moment and notice where you are as you stand smack bang in the middle of 2017.

How is your health and wellbeing?

How is your body feeling?

Would you like to feel more energetic, lighter, leaner, vibrant, focused, sleep better?

The team love a margarita as much as the next person. But, we're ditching the booze for 31 days to kickstart the last 6 months of 2017, and raise money for the care of cancer patients and their families.

Join us over here, and we'll stay in touch: https://www.dryjuly.com/teams/happy-money-happy-life

Here's a few questions we asked ourselves to help us get motivated, and hopefully stay on track. If you decide to join us, we'd love to you to drop us an email to let us know your answers to the questions below: james@totemwealth.com.au or jennifer@totemwealth.com.au

What do you want out of Dry July?

  • I've got a few projects on the go, and I've love to have more time, and clarity. This seems like the perfect way to stick at it for 31 days ie raise some money for a good cause, spread awareness, stay accountable via making it public!

How will you feel at the end of 31 days?

  • Accomplished - that warm fuzzy feeling from ticking off a goal.

What do you believe will be your biggest challenges in being successful?

  • As always, myself. That tricky balance of staying social and in the vibe, without the drinks. Which is exactly why this will be good for me to do it!

How can you deal with these challenges?

  • Anticipating what could sway me off course, and having a plan - letting everyone know what I'm doing, forward planning how I use my time more effectively to catch up or relax.

    • I’m looking forward to the challenge of having no alcohol.
    • I’m curious as to how it affects my energy and health.

How will you feel at the end of 31 days?

    • I’ll feel proud, and hopefully more vibrant.

What do you believe will be your biggest challenges in being successful?

      • Having a wine to unwind at the end of a busy day.
      • Being at social events on the weekend.
      • Having a cocktail or champagne as a reward or celebration with family and friends.

How can you deal with these challenges?

        • Put something else in place of a night time wine (soda and lemon or a juice).
        • Create a daily habit of meditation to manage stress levels.
        • Have active catch ups with friends (mountain climb or beach walk) rather than afternoon wines.
